The day after Halloween, Local 10’s morning team tackled the topic after one anchor admitted to taking a bite of leftover candy on air.

According to a recent online poll, about one-third of adults in the U.S. say you’re never too old to trick-or-treat. Still, opinions vary when it comes to age limits.

Thirty percent of people surveyed said 14 should be the cutoff age, while 20% said 16. Another 17% said it depends on a child’s maturity level, but nearly the same number thought 12 was already too old.

Some argue that as long as adults embrace the Halloween spirit — costumes and all — there’s no harm in joining the fun. Others said trick-or-treating should remain a childhood tradition unless parents are tagging along with their kids.
