Want to get spooked? Nightmare Village returns to Xtreme Action Park in Fort Lauderdale

Want to get spooked? Nightmare Village returns to Xtreme Action Park in Fort Lauderdale One of South Florida’s most terrifying attractions is back.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — One of South Florida’s most terrifying attractions is back.

Nightmare Village at Xtreme Action Park has returned for the 2025 season with a single, extended haunted experience that promises scares around every corner.

The park is located at 5300 Powerline Road in Fort Lauderdale.

This year, instead of the usual three separate haunted houses, visitors walk through one long haunted theater that combines multiple experiences.

Freddy Hernandez, owner of the Nightmare Village, said the new setup is designed to intensify the experience.

“We wanted to make the experience so much bigger and grander, much more intense, so we thought let’s put all these houses together, with three different experiences,” Hernandez said.

Inside the haunted theater, guests encounter scare rooms like “The Final Stitch” and “The Cellar,” where visitors navigate tight spaces, and “Dead and Breakfast,” a creepy motel overrun by vampires.

The attraction challenges guests to outlast the actors waiting in the dark, often prompting screams and startled reactions.

Hernandez described Nightmare Village as one-of-a-kind in the region.

“There’s nothing like it in South Florida. We are the best, the most intense and the scariest haunted house there is,” he said.
