PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — With sunny skies and warm temperatures in the forecast this weekend, it’s the perfect excuse to grab a swimsuit, soak up some sun and cool off in the water.
But with the beautiful weather comes a familiar South Florida debate: beach or pool?
Some people prefer the pool, citing the lack of sand, fewer environmental concerns and added convenience. Pools can offer easier access, more privacy and what some consider a cleaner, more controlled environment.
Beachgoers, however, argue there’s nothing like the sound of the ocean and the feel of natural saltwater. Many say the beach provides a calming escape from daily routines, along with space for social gatherings and outdoor activities.
Living in South Florida can even change minds. While some may have once preferred pools or lakes, the draw of the ocean — and the relaxing sound of the waves — can quickly turn newcomers into beach fans.
Of course, with the pleasant weather expected, crowds are likely at both beaches and pools across the area.
So what’s your pick — beach or pool? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
