Inspectors with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation found several restaurants that had significant roach problems, including Happy House in Oakland Park, Grace Restaurant in Pompano Beach, Unique Park Restaurant in Pompano Beach, and Inkas Grill Corp. in Florida City.
Roaches were discovered in kitchens, inside equipment, and around food preparation areas. In a separate and equally serious category, El Gallito Grill in Miami was shut down after inspectors found that essentially all of its food was being held out of proper temperature, a major food safety risk that can lead to rapid bacterial growth.
No places in the Florida Keys were ordered shut last week.
All the places mentioned were allowed to re-open following an ordered clean up and then a re-inspection.
