MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A Miami-Dade man is facing a dozen felony charges after sheriff’s deputies said he was distributing child sexual abuse videos on the messaging platform Kik.
Christian Demostenes Constantiny, 31, was taken into custody on Thursday.
According to an arrest report from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, a search warrant on his Kik account revealed “(numerous) files and chat logs” of Constantiny distributing illicit videos of children.
Deputies said the videos depicted boys and girls as young as 3 being raped and sexually abused.
The MDSO report includes two chat logs where deputies said Constantiny was communicating with users who said they were 13 and 17, sharing child sexual abuse material with them. They said he claimed to be 21 in one of the chats.
Deputies said they took Constantiny into custody at a home near Northwest 17th Avenue and 87th Street in the county’s West Little River area on Thursday. They said he invoked his right to remain silent.
Records show he was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $30,000 bond.
Constantiny’s arrest report lists his occupation as “teacher.”
An official directory associated Constantiny with Miami Dade College, but an MDC spokesperson told Local 10 News that while he worked at one point as an adjunct instructor, he “has no current employment or teaching relationship” with the school and the allegations occurred after he left MDC.
It’s unclear whether he was employed by anyone else as a teacher at the time of his arrest.
