MIAMI — The 24th annual St. Jude Angels and Stars Gala took place Saturday night at the InterContinental in Miami, raising funds to support pediatric cancer research and treatment.
Local 10 spoke with Slater, a St. Jude cancer survivor, who said, “I’m feeling really good.”
Asked what it meant to be at the event, he added, “it means that I beat cancer and I’m really glad to be here.”
The gala featured dinner, entertainment and an auction, with proceeds benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Organizers say the event highlights the hospital’s mission to end childhood cancer worldwide.
Families and supporters gathered to celebrate survivors and the impact of the hospital’s work.
