Florida’s hunting, fishing & camping sales tax holiday; what you need to know

Florida’s hunting, fishing and camping sales tax holiday kicked off Monday and runs all the way through Dec. 31!

During this time, consumers may purchase qualifying hunting, fishing and camping supplies tax free.

Qualifying camping and fishing items include:

  • $5 or less: Bait or fishing tackle if sold individually, or $10 or less if multiple items are sold together
  • $30 or less: Flashlights, camping lanterns, tackles boxes or bags
  • $50 or less: Camping stoves, collapsible camping chairs, portable hammocks, sleeping bags
  • $75 or less: Rods and reels if sold individually, or $150 or less if sold as a set.
  • $200 or less: Tents

Qualifying hunting supplies include:

  • Ammunition
  • Firearms
  • Firearm accessories: Charging handles, cleaning kits, holsters, pistol grips, sights or optics, stocks
  • Bows
  • Crossbows
  • Bow and crossbow accessories: Arrows, bolts, quarrels, quivers, releases, sights or optics, wrist guards
