MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Three people were injured Friday morning when an SUV crashed into a bus stop in Miami Beach, authorities confirmed.

According to Miami Beach police, the crash occurred just before 11 a.m. at the intersection of 36th Street and Collins Avenue.

Pictures obtained by Local 10 News show the damage to the front passenger side of the car, after it slammed into the bus stop.

“I seen a shoe and a headlight and I seen the bus stop destroyed,” said witness Nick.

Police said a man was struck by the vehicle and suffered a leg injury.

Police said the victim was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. They confirmed two females were also transported to the hospital “for further evaluation.”

Police say the driver was cited for careless driving -- calling this an unfortunate accident.

Police are also urging drivers to be cautious in roadways due to bad weather and spring breakers in the area.

No other details were immediately released.
