MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — A longtime South Beach dining destination has closed its doors after 15 years in business, but the restaurant says it hopes the goodbye won’t be permanent.
Yardbird Southern Table & Bar, known for its Southern comfort food, fried chicken and extensive bourbon selection, has abruptly closed its South Beach location.
A sign posted on the restaurant’s door thanks customers for their years of support and describes the closure as a “short-term goodbye.”
The notice also reassures patrons that the restaurant intends to return, stating: “We have plans to reopen in the future!”
Yardbird first opened on Miami Beach in 2011 and became a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, earning a reputation for its signature fried chicken and waffles, Southern-inspired menu and bourbon program.
The restaurant has not announced when or where it plans to reopen, and no reason for the closure was provided.
For now, fans of the South Beach staple will have to wait for more details about its anticipated return.
