Investigators with the Hialeah Police Department said they heard from multiple victims who claimed that Juan Espinosa, who now lives in Bradenton, had abused them over several years.

One of the victims told police that the abuse had occurred from 2018 to 2022, when he was between the ages of 9 and 13.

A second victim told police that Espinosa had been abusing her between 2009 and 2020, starting when she was 9 years old and ending when she was 20.

According to arrest records, Espinosa groomed both victims separately, showing them pornographic videos at first before eventually starting to touch himself and the victims over time.

Police said controlled phone calls were made between parties representing the victims’ and Espinosa, which helped them establish his responsibility for the crimes.

One of the victims reported that some of the alleged abuse occurred in Hillsborough County and Espinosa was initially jailed there in December.

He has since been charged with six counts of sexual activity with a child by a person in familial or custodial authority, three counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child between the ages of 12 and 16 and five counts of sexual battery on a victim between the ages of 12 and 17 by a defendant 18 or over.

Espinosa, following his extradition to Miami-Dade, was being held without bond in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
