Florida reported 1,736 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday along with 34 more residents’ deaths.
The new cases are the fewest the state has announced in a day since June 11, and yesterday’s positivity rate was 3.91%.

Florida is now up to 665,730 confirmed cases, 12,642 resident deaths and 41,374 hospitalizations attributed to the novel coronavirus since the start of the outbreak, according to the state health department’s dashboard.
Another 158 nonresidents have died from COVID-19 in the state.
The new deaths reported over the past 24 hours include 14 in Miami-Dade County, four in Broward and three in Palm Beach County.
These latest numbers come as Miami-Dade and Broward counties officially join Phase 2 of reopening, though you won’t notice major differences right away in those counties.
In Monroe County, however, schools reopened to students on Monday.

The United States has passed 6.5 million confirmed cases, with over 194,000 deaths from COVID-19, the highest numbers in the world. Over 2.4 million Americans have been deemed recovered, according to data compiled from various sources by Johns Hopkins University.
Worldwide, the number of COVID-19 cases reported has surpassed 29 million. There have been more than 924,000 deaths worldwide attributed to the pandemic, with over 19.6 million being declared recovered.
