Cooper City charter school evacuated due to bomb threat

COOPER CITY, Fla. – A charter school in Cooper City was evacuated Thursday morning due to a bomb threat, authorities confirmed.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the bomb threat targeted Renaissance Charter School at 2800 N Palm Ave.

Authorities said the threat does not appear to be credible, although the school was evacuated per standard protocol.

Northbound lanes of Palm Avenue between Sheridan and Sterling Street were closed to traffic during the investigation.

No other details were immediately released.
