Sanchez said shoppers ran inside her store for cover.

She said while helping shoppers hide and fearing the worst, she called her mother.

“I told her I loved her because I thought I was going to die or something,” Sanchez said.

Police eventually said there was no active shooter situation and there was no need to shelter in place.

The victim was taken to Delray Medical Center for treatment, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.

A motive for the shooting is unclear.
