Dispute leads to man being fatally shot at ex-girlfriend’s Miami Springs home

MIAMI SPRINGS, Fla. – A dispute between three people led to a fatal shooting Wednesday night in Miami Springs, according to police.

Officials with the Miami-Dade Police Department, which took over the investigation from Miami Springs police, said two men and a woman were arguing at an efficiency in the 600 block of South Drive sometime before 10:35 p.m.

The argument escalated and one of the men shot the other man, police said.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue pronounced the victim, who has not been identified by authorities yet, dead at the scene.

Police have since charged 19-year-old Lucas Cereceda with second-degree murder.

According to an arrest form, the victim’s ex-girlfriend lives at the Miami Springs efficiency and she was there with Cereceda on Wednesday night.

At some point during the evening, the victim came to the home and was invited in by Cereceda to, according to the report, “address the differences with his ex-girlfriend.”

It was shortly after that the conversation escalated into a verbal dispute, which resulted in the fatal shooting, per the arrest form.
