MIAMI – New video obtained by Local 10 News on Tuesday shows the dramatic end of a police pursuit on Interstate 95 the week prior.
The video, released by the Florida Highway Patrol, shows a trooper making a PIT maneuver on a stolen blue cargo van in the Express lanes.
The van later came to a stop at the Airport Expressway onramp in Miami.
Authorities said Jose Blanquicett, 23, of Biscayne Park, stole the van from the parts department of Toyota of North Miami after committing an attempted sexual battery at a northwest Miami-Dade medical clinic. Neither he nor the trooper were injured.
Blanquicett faces a host of charges, including attempted sexual battery, grand theft auto, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and fleeing and eluding.
