FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – On Saturday, in court, Broward County Circuit Judge Elijah Williams said over 20 deputies responded — including SWAT, canine, robots, and aviation — to get Eric Exantus out of the house.

County records show Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Exantus, 36, a convicted felon, on Friday and booked him on seven charges at the main jail in Fort Lauderdale.

Exantus appeared before Williams in bond court on Saturday.

“It was incredible,” Williams said in court about the police response.

Exantus is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent, battery, possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon, and resisting an officer without violence.

The defense said Exantus had two children ages 10 and 11 and couldn’t afford a high bond. The prosecution said he had a 2004 conviction in Florida and offenses in Georgia in 2022.

Williams ordered Exantus not to have contact with a victim, and to stay away from weapons and ammunition, and set his bond at $40,100.
