FDLE after search for Miami Gardens girl with autism: ‘The child is safe’

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – After a search for an 11-year-old girl who vanished in Miami Gardens, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement announced on Tuesday afternoon: “The child is safe.”

Police said Galiea Jones Duncanson had vanished in the area of the 2400 block of Northwest 155th Street in Miami Gardens. Family members said she lives with autism.

Officers described her as 5-foot, 1-inch tall, weighing 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue shirt, and multi-colored leggings, and she was carrying a Powerpuff Girls backpack.
