Police said officers arrived at the condominium unit and were met by the husband who pointed at the floor, where an officer saw a silver kitchen knife with an approximately 10-inch blade.

According to the report, officers asked the husband to step outside of the apartment and he complied.

Police said officers then called the wife, Emili Benisti out of the apartment as she was holding her and her husband’s 1-year-old child.

According to the report, the couple had gotten into an argument earlier regarding what they were going to do that day.

Police said during the argument, Benisti went into the kitchen and grabbed the knife and pointed it at her husband, ordering him to hand over their child or she would kill him.

According to the report, the husband then put down their child and grabbed his wife by her right wrist and then snatched the knife out of her hand.

The child was not injured during the incident, police confirmed.

Benisti was arrested on charges of battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

She was no longer appearing in the jail database on Monday.
