Man accused of sexually abusing minor in Miami-Dade

MIAMI – A 32-year-old migrant stands accused of sexually abusing a minor in Miami-Dade County, police said.

Police officers arrested Javier Acevedo Solis on an arrest warrant issued on Tuesday and correctional officers booked him shortly before 11:10 p.m., on Friday, at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

Solis appeared in bond court on Saturday to face a charge of sexual battery on a minor by an adult. Corrections held him without bond on a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s hold.

Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Teresa Mary Pooler was set to preside over the case. Solis’s next court hearing is at 9 a.m., on Monday.
