FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A 52-year-old man is accused of stabbing another man multiple times during an altercation that police say occurred inside a popular bar and lounge in Fort Lauderdale on Thursday night.
According to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, officers responded just before 10:40 p.m. to Blue Martini at 2432 E. Sunrise Blvd. after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a stabbing.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Investigators said the victim was taken to Broward Health Medical Center with serious injuries and is expected to survive.
They said the victim and Lawrence Constantine Edmonson had been involved in an altercation before the stabbing.
Police said license plate reader cameras helped officers quickly locate the Edmonson’s vehicle. They said a grappler device was used to safely stop the vehicle before taking him into custody.
Police said Edmonson suffered minor injuries during the initial altercation with the victim.
As of Friday afternoon, he was being held without bond at the Broward County Main Jail.
No other details about the stabbing were immediately released.
