MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Three child sex abuse victims in Miami-Dade County reported that Juan Espinosa’s crimes started when he showed them porn, records show.
In North Miami, Espinosa sexually molested a girl when she was 10 years old and started to rape her when she was 11, according to a police officer’s arrest report.
Espinosa “would lose his temper if she refused to have sex with him,” a police officer wrote about the girl in North Miami, according to the arrest report.
In Hialeah, Espinosa sexually abused a 9-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl, according to police officers’ recent arrest reports.
“The defendant was arrested in Tampa, Florida, for a similar case ... is currently incarcerated on similar charges,” a police officer wrote, according to the arrest report.
Miami-Dade corrections booked Espinosa, 65, shortly after 11:35 a.m. on Wednesday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. North Miami police officers re-arrested him at 3:20 p.m. on Thursday at TGKCC.
On Friday, Espinosa faced 18 charges in three cases in Miami-Dade County, according to court records.
In a Hialeah case, Espinosa faced 14 charges: Six counts of engaging in a sexual act with a child, three counts of lewd or lascivious molestation on a child, and five counts of sexual battery on a child.
In the North Miami case, Espinosa faced three charges: Engaging in a sexual act with a child, lewd or lascivious molestation on a child, and knowingly transmitting, distributing, or showing obscene or harmful material to a minor.
In a second Hialeah case, Espinosa faced a charge of lewd or lascivious molestation on a child.
Espinosa, who was born in Cuba, also had holds from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Florida Department of Corrections, according to inmate records
