Police arrest 19-year-old in connection to Mother’s Day double fatal hit-and-run in Davie

DAVIE, Fla. – A driver has been arrested in connection to a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on Mother’s Day.

It happened along the 3400 block of State Road 7 in Davie on May 11.

Police have since taken Lucien DaSilva, 19, of Sunrise, into custody.

According to police, the crash involved multiple vehicles and two motorcycles and witnesses told officers the vehicles were speeding when the motorcycles were hit.

Two people, Gustaryus Williamson, 25, and Alycea Caban, 20, were killed, and two others were injured, while the people in the vehicles fled the scene.

After an extensive investigation, police said they were able to identify the suspect vehicle: a 2014 silver Infiniti Q50.

Monday, officers from the Davie Police Department and Sunrise Police Department executed an arrest warrant for DaSilva.

He was arrested on two counts of leaving the scene of an accident involving death and was booked into the Broward County Main Jail.
