HIALEAH, Fla. – Authorities say a Medley man targeted a “vulnerable” homeless woman to commit vicious rapes at both a Hialeah motel and his mobile home, leaving her with “significant” injuries.

Hialeah police arrested Yunior Pulido, 40, on four criminal charges on Monday following a nearly year-long investigation.

Police said the rapes occurred on Aug. 30, 2024 and the woman called police two days later to report that she was “sexually assaulted and was bleeding.”

According to an arrest report from the Hialeah Police Department, the woman told investigators that she had come to town from Arizona to be away from her estranged husband.

It states that she told investigators that she was sitting at a bus bench along Okeechobee Road near West 29th Street when Pulido approached her at around 11:30 p.m. and identified himself as “Yunior,” but told her to call him “el burro,” Spanish for “the donkey.”

According to the report, the woman told investigators that Pulido offered her “a place to shower and sleep at no cost, claiming he wanted to help her.”

“Due to her vulnerable condition, the victim agreed and (Pulido) picked her up in his vehicle,” the report states.

Police said the woman told them that Pulido took her to the nearby Rainbow Inn Motel at 2801 W. Okeechobee Road. Authorities said once there, Pulido entered her room “under the pretense of helping her with her belongings.“

“Once inside, (he) pushed the victim onto the bed, locked the door, undressed and made sexually threatening statements,” the report states.

Police said despite pleas to stop, he raped her and forced her to take crystal meth.

“After the motel stay ended, (Pulido) forced the victim into his vehicle by grabbing her by the waist and warning her not to scream, otherwise she would see what would happen,” the report states. “The victim, in fear, complied.”

Authorities said he then took her to his trailer at the Medley Mobile Home Park across the canal at 8181 NW South River Drive, where he raped her again.

Police said the woman was able to escape and go back to the area of the Rainbow Inn after Pulido fell asleep and called the police.

Hospital staff noted “significant” injuries from the assaults and the woman underwent a rape kit at the Roxcy Bolton Rape Treatment center in Miami.

Police said the results came back on April 30.

“Additionally, a records check on (Pulido) revealed that he currently drives the same vehicle the victim described him operating on the day of the incident,” the report states. “The victim also had a photograph of the defendant taken that day, which matched his physical appearance.”

Police said she was also able to identify Pulido by his “visible” penile implant.

Hialeah police arrested Pulido at his home Monday on charges of sexual battery, kidnapping, false imprisonment and battery.

Local 10 News contacted the Medley Police Department Tuesday seeking information on whether he may face any additional charges for the alleged assault that occurred at his trailer. A spokesperson said he was checking with the agency’s detectives.

As of Tuesday, Pulido was being held without bond in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center ahead of a pre-trial detention hearing.
