Investigators said Alexander Louis Morris, 24, of Big Pine Key, pleaded guilty on July 3 to one count of promoting a sexual performance by a child and five counts of possession of child sexual abuse material. All charges are second-degree felonies under Florida law.

According to State Attorney Dennis Ward, the investigations began in December when Florida Department of Law Enforcement agents searched Morris’s home and seized several electronic devices.

Investigators said they uncovered dozens of disturbing files, including videos described as “trophy recordings” that Morris made of himself performing sexual acts while viewing exploitative content involving children.

“This wasn’t just illegal — it was vile,” Ward said. “These videos showed real children enduring real abuse and Morris took it a step further by recording his own reactions. It’s deeply troubling.”

A second case followed after tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led authorities to online accounts Morris allegedly used to trade illegal material through apps like Kik, Discord, Telegram and Snapchat.

Detectives said Morris used the handle “binhorny22” on Kik to share explicit videos of underage girls in exchange for more child sexual abuse material that dated back to December 2023.

They said he also found videos of Morris masturbating to images and videos involving girls believed to be younger than 12.

Morris was sentenced to six years in prison on the most serious charge, with concurrent five-year sentences on the remaining counts.
