BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — The Humane Society of Broward County is looking for a forever home for Moose, an affectionate 8-year-old dog surrendered just days ago.

Moose recently arrived at the shelter after being passed between multiple families.

His most recent home gave him up due to incompatibility with another resident dog, according to HSBC’s Matthew Seligman.

“He’s incredibly sweet and just a little nervous right now,” Seligman said during Local 10’s Adopt a Pet segment on Thursday. “But he’s gentle and loving — just needs the right home.”

Moose’s appearance on air captured hearts as he nervously sought comfort in the arms of Local 10’s Alex Finnie. Shelter staff hope the exposure will help find him a stable home.

HSBC encourages the public to support animals like Moose even if they aren’t ready to adopt.

“A simple share on social media can go a long way,” Seligman said, noting that awareness is often the first step in getting animals adopted.
