Roofer, 23, killed after falling from 5-story building in Wilton Manors

WILTON MANORS, Fla. — A 23-year-old roofer died Thursday after falling from the roof of a five-story building in Wilton Manors, authorities said.

Wilton Manors police said emergency crews were called to the Wilton Station apartment complex, located near the 500 block of Northeast 26th Street, where a man was found unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said the man, whose name has not yet been released, was working on the roof of a residential property when he lost his footing.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified and will assist in the investigation, authorities confirmed.

Not other details about the incident were immediately released.
