TAMARAC, Fla. — Authorities announced the arrest of a Broward County man on child porn charges.
Deputies took 76-year-old Dean Garvin of Tamarac into custody on Tuesday.
According to an arrest report, a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led investigators to Garvin, via an IP address and internet provider.
Deputies said it was that internet provider, AT&T, that gave authorities Garvin’s name and address.
While details of an alleged confession were omitted from his arrest report, Garvin did allow deputies to observe evidence of child pornography, some of which included children depicted performing sexual acts with animals and bondage, on an unspecified device or computer.
Authorities charged him with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, one count of computer pornography and one count of sexual activities involving animals.
