Authorities said they spent much of Thursday collecting evidence inside the residence near the 1700 block of Northwest 109th Ave., where the bodies of Octavis Anthony Myers and an unidentified woman were found Wednesday.

Police confirmed Myers was discovered in the garage and appeared to have been deceased for some time. Officers then located the woman inside a bedroom.

Neighbors were briefly allowed inside the home Friday to retrieve belongings, while detectives continued piecing together a timeline of events.

Investigators said an elderly homeowner had sent a relative to walk her dog on Wednesday, when the dog alerted the relative to the garage and Myers’ body was discovered.

Police have not yet released the identity of the woman found inside the home, pending notification of her next of kin.

Authorities continue to express concern for the wellbeing of 27-year-old Isaiah Collins, the grandson of the homeowner, who they say frequently stayed at the residence but has not been seen in recent days.

Neighbors told Local 10 News they are used to seeing Collins walk a large dog in the neighborhood but noted his sudden absence.

“He’s the one … has been living there walking a very large dog. We see him quite often. I have not seen him,” one neighbor said.

Police have classified the deaths as suspicious but have not said whether foul play is suspected.

They urged anyone with information on Collins’ whereabouts to contact Pembroke Pines police at 954-431-2200 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
