SUNRISE, Fla. — A man was wounded, and police officers arrested a suspect after a shooting on Saturday afternoon in Sunrise, near Plantation, according to police.

Sunrise police officers responded to the shooting shortly before 1 p.m. at Northwest 18 Street and 63rd Avenue, west of Lauderhill.

Police officers found the man, who was shot in the leg, conscious, and fire rescue personnel took him to the Florida Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, police said.

Sunrise police officers arrested a suspect, and a detective was investigating the motive on Saturday afternoon.
