MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — A Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputy shot and wounded a suspect in a Pembroke Pines double murder in Miami Gardens on Sunday morning, authorities said.
Isaiah Collins, 27, was wanted in connection with the deaths of Octavis Myers and a woman whose identity has not been made public.
They were found on Wednesday inside of a home at 1730 NW 109th Ave., where Collins also resides.

Authorities said a deputy spotted Collins in Miami Gardens just before noon.
Deputies said Collins ran across Florida’s Turnpike into a canal and went up a tree in the area of Northwest 192nd Street and Sunshine State Parkway East.
A deputy opened fire, wounding him. Undersheriff Christopher Carothers said Collins was shot in the arm but remained in the tree.
Carothers did not specifically say whether Collins was armed.
Authorities said Collins was airlifted to an area hospital and was “stable” as of Sunday afternoon.
Pembroke Pines police said he will face two charges of first-degree murder with a firearm, as well as charges in Miami-Dade “in connection with his capture.”
