Authorities said Monday that Tiara Belizaire-Young was found dead, along with Octavis Myers, at a home at 1730 NW 109th Ave. on Wednesday. Officials have not listed their ages.

Isaiah Collins, 27, who lives at the home, was taken into custody after being shot by a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputy who spotted him in Miami Gardens on Sunday.

Deputies said Collins ran across Florida’s Turnpike into a canal and went up a tree in the area of Northwest 192nd Street and Sunshine State Parkway East in an attempt to evade deputies.

A deputy opened fire, wounding him. Miami-Dade Undersheriff Christopher Carothers said Collins was shot in the arm but remained in the tree.

Carothers did not specifically say whether Collins was armed.

“What I can say is that this individual is a very dangerous individual and the community should find comfort in knowing that he is now apprehended and will go to jail,” Pembroke Pines Police Department Capt. Adam Feiner said.

Police haven’t said how Collins knew the two victims.

Pembroke Pines police said once out of the hospital, he will face two charges of first-degree murder with a firearm, as well as charges in Miami-Dade “in connection with his capture.”
