PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. — The all clear has been given after two schools in Pembroke Pines were placed on a “precautionary Code Secure” Tuesday morning, police confirmed.
A precautionary Code Secure is a security protocol used in schools when there is a potential threat or hazard outside the building.
According to Pembroke Pines police, the department received a report about two suspicious individuals who were spotted in the area.
Police said officers then responded to the area of 12800 Taft Street, near Charles W. Flanagan High School, after someone reported that the suspicious individuals were walking near the school.
Police said Walter C. Young Middle School, located at 901 NW 129th Ave., was also temporarily placed on a precautionary Code Secure, although there were “no active safety alerts on either school campus.”
Around 9:30 a.m., police confirmed no suspicious people were located and the call appeared to be unfounded.
