Pembroke Pines police officer injured in 3-vehicle crash

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. — A Pembroke Pines police patrol car was involved in a crash Thursday morning with two other vehicles, first responders confirmed to Local 10 News.

According to Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue, the crash occurred at Southwest 96th Avenue and Pines Boulevard.

First responders said there was moderate damage to all three vehicles.

One person was evaluated at the scene and declined to be transported to the hospital, while the officer was transported to Memorial Hospital West with a minor injury, PPFR said.

Pembroke Pines police confirmed that the westbound lanes of Pines Boulevard at 96th Avenue were blocked after the crash.

“Preliminary investigation suggests the police officer’s right of way was violated by one of the involved motorists who improperly turned left directly in front of the officer’s path,” a spokesperson for the police department said in an email to Local 10 News.

The identities of those involved in the crash have not been released.
