MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — A stabbing incident in Miami Beach was caught on surveillance camera.
According to police, 83-year-old John Gula brutally stabbed the manager of Rebecca Towers, located at 150 Alton Road and owned by the Miami Beach Housing Authority, back on Aug. 4.
It was around 10:40 a.m. when Gula, his girlfriend and the victim walking down the hall.
The victim was said to be speaking with Gula about a failed apartment inspection, police said. Video shows the conversation went on for about six minutes when Gula put down an item and reached in his pocket, pulling out a folding knife, then stepping towards the manger and repeatedly stabbing her.
Police said the victim was able to wrestle the knife away from Gula and toss it down the hall as blood could be seen gushing from her upper-body.
Gula’s girlfriend appeared to attempt holding him back as he clung to the victim, pulling her back as she bled out.
Eventually, the victim was able to grab a phone and make her way down the hall as Gula attempted to hold her back.
Residents could be seen walking out into the hall as Gula stood in the corner.
Police eventually arrested him and charged him with attempted second-degree murder.
He was not granted bond and will remain behind bars, a judge ruled.
