MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Authorities responded Friday evening to a shooting in southwest Miami-Dade that they said left two men in critical condition.
At approximately 5:45 p.m., deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said they arrived near at a home near the intersection of Southwest 92nd Avenue and Southwest Fourth Street, where they found two men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Deputies said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported both men to a local hospital in critical condition.
Preliminary investigation indicates the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident between the two men, according to authorities.
Video from Sky 10 showed that one of the vehicles involved was still at the intersection as investigators worked to piece together what happened.
Authorities said it remained unclear whether both men shot were in the same vehicle or what roles they played in the incident.
A witness told Local 10 News she heard three gunshots, followed by what appeared to be an attack involving one of the men.
Witness Grace Castro said she was shaken by what unfolded.
“The guy was coming out of the car. It looks like it might’ve been a car, accident, and my mind. I’m thinking maybe he ended him and he got upset. At that point, he just walked out,” she said. “He started beating on the guy and the guy that he was resting on him. At that point I got scared. Everything going on I was like what if he pulls out a gun or what not that point he just left.”
MDSO’s General Investigations detectives responded to the scene and are leading the investigation.
No other information about the individuals involved in the shooting were immediately released.
