MIAMI — Surveillance video captured a smash-and-grab burglary at Kicked Up Miami early Sunday morning. Masked thieves shattered the storefront and stole more than 180 pieces of clothing, valued at up to $50,000.
Store owner Axel Rosario watched the break-in live on his phone and rushed over.
“By the time we got here, it was too late,” he said. The burglary took just three minutes.
Kicked Up Miami isn’t just a business — it helps pay for Rosario’s mother’s stage 4 cancer treatment. A fundraising link is available on the store’s website.
“It’s heartbreaking,” said employee Gabriel Rodriguez. “I have no words.”
Rosario said the burglary reminded him of a similar incident in Pembroke Pines over the summer. Police are investigating but haven’t confirmed a connection.
His message to the thieves: “Work, just like we all do. You don’t need to steal.”
