BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — The Broward Sheriff’s Office is looking into a deputy-involved shooting that happened Sunday evening in the 2500 block of Northwest 9th Court, just outside Fort Lauderdale in unincorporated Broward County.

BSO said around 5:35 p.m., a call came in about a possible disturbance involving a firearm.

Deputies responded to the scene and made contact with an individual. At some point during the encounter, shots were fired by a deputy.

The individual was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was hurt.

It is still unknown how it all happened.
