HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. — A fire broke out in a Hallandale Beach home early Tuesday morning, forcing at least two families from their residence but leaving everyone unharmed, authorities confirmed.
The fire started around 2:30 a.m. at a home near 11th Avenue and Second Street.
Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue officials said 35 firefighters responded and launched what they described as an aggressive interior attack, deploying multiple hand lines to battle the flames.
They said blaze was contained to one room and extinguished within 15 minutes.
Residents said they first noticed smoke filling the home before calling 911. Cellphone video they shared showed heavy smoke pouring through the residence.
Authorities confirmed that all residents escaped safely and no injuries were reported. The Red Cross is assisting displaced families.
The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
Residents told Local 10 News that maintenance work had been done Monday in the same area where the blaze started, but it was not electrical. Property managers declined to comment.
