Hostel fire impacts 98 in South Beach

SOUTH BEACH, Fla. — Firefighters responded to a fire on Monday on the second floor of a hostel in South Beach.

Miami Beach firefighters evacuated the South Beach Rooms and Hostel along Ninth Street, between Washington Avenue and Collins Court.

No one was injured, but the fire impacted 98 people, according to the American Red Cross volunteers who responded. The cause of the fire was under investigation.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 to remain anonymous.
