MIAMI — A Miami man arrested in late May after allegations that he sexually battered an 8-year-old girl is now facing additional disturbing charges.
Osher Pittman, 21, of Allapattah, is now also accused of possessing more than 100 files of content depicting the sexual abuse of children and animals.
Pittman, who police said blamed “ongoing issues with the victim’s mother” for the allegations leading to his child sexual battery arrest in May, now has 16 more felonies to contend with while locked up at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he’s been since May 28.
“Through meticulous investigative work, detectives were able to successfully bring a perpetrator of such despicable acts to justice and therefore prevent further harm to innocent children,” Miami police said in a news release on Tuesday.
Miami police said they were tipped off by the messaging app Discord that Pittman was sharing illicit content on its platform.
According to an arrest report, investigators served a search warrant at his home in the 2000 block of Northwest 19th Terrace in August and described 16 files they found on his Samsung cellphone.
Police said they all depicted young girls, one possibly as young as 1 year old, being raped or sexually abused.
One image, police said, involved a victim between the ages of 7 and 9 and a dog.
“Approximately more than 100 child sexual abuse material images were found in the defendant’s phone extraction, including bestiality pornography,” the report states.
Pittman remained at TGK without bond as of Tuesday.
