Suspect arrested after stolen goods, drugs found during search of Davie business, cops say

DAVIE, Fla. — A joint investigation in Davie led to an arrest and the seizure of more than $160,000 in stolen property and illegal narcotics, authorities said.

The Florida Highway Patrol Cargo Theft Task Force, working with the Davie Police Crime Reduction Unit, developed leads about stolen goods at a business in the 5400 block of Reese Road, investigators confirmed Tuesday.

They said search warrants were obtained and served at the location.

Investigators said they recovered 36 refrigerators, six pallets of Bath & Body Works merchandise, 39 pounds of suspected marijuana, three kilos of suspected cocaine and other pills, including ecstasy and Oxycodone. They also confirmed the recovery of approximately $17,000 in cash.

They said at least one person was arrested and faces charges that were not immediately disclosed. The individual’s identity has not been released at this time.
