TAMARAC, Fla. — Authorities in Broward County are searching for a woman who was caught on camera snatching a purse.
It happened on Sunday night at Hong Kong City BBQ, located at 5301 State Road 7 in Tamarac.
Video shows two women coming into the restaurant to pick up a takeout order when one goes behind the counter and grabs a purse before walking out.
Deputies said one of the women distracted the owner with repeated questions while the other slipped behind the counter.
“I feel violated,” said Nancy Tang, who owns the restaurant. “I feel like I lost my identity because I feel lost. I couldn’t believe anybody would do something so malicious like this.”
Tang said the purse had several thousand dollars inside, intended for her daughter for graduation.
Deputies are investigating the crime.
