LAUDERHILL, Fla. — A Lauderhill man was arrested this week on multiple charges after a months-long child pornography investigation, police announced Friday in a news release.
According to Lauderhill police, the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force received multiple cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) from April through June regarding a man who was possibly in possession and distributing child pornography.
LPD’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID) then initiated an investigation into the accusations and identified electronic files containing images and videos of children ranging in age from about 3 years old to 14, police said.
Authorities said the children were engaged in sexual acts and lewd exhibitions.
According to detectives, the South Florida ICAC Task Force executed search warrants Wednesday and detained Courtney Fisher Jr., 20, who was interviewed.
Police said during the search of Fisher’s home, they found additional concealed files containing child sexual abuse material, including material depicting children as young as infants.
Fisher was arrested on 10 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of compiling computer pornography of a minor.
“The Lauderhill Police Department remains committed to protecting children and aggressively investigating those who exploit them,” LPD said in the news release. “This case highlights the importance of partnerships with agencies such as ICAC and NCMEC in identifying and apprehending offenders.”
As of Friday morning, Fisher was being held at the Paul Rein Detention Facility on an $80,000 bond.
Police ask that anyone with information about this case or other suspected exploitation of children, call their local police department or submit a cyber tip directly to NCMEC at www.missingkids.org.
