OAKLAND PARK, Fla. — Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating a girl’s drowning death, which occurred on Friday morning.
It happened just before 9 a.m. in the 4100 block of Northwest 16th Avenue in Oakland Park.
Deputies said they pulled the girl from the water and medics “immediately began administering life-saving measures and transported the child to an area hospital for treatment,” but the girl later died.
Authorities did not specify her age and said the “circumstances surrounding the child’s death remain under investigation.”
