LAKE WORTH, Fla. — The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after possible human remains were discovered this week at a construction site in Lake Worth, authorities said.
According to PBSO, deputies responded to a construction site at 4489 Davis Road just after 3 p.m. Monday after workers stumbled upon the remains.
Deputies said what appeared to be a femur and pelvic bone were discovered on the property.
The Palm Beach County Medical Examiner’s Office and personnel from Florida Gulf Coast University were immediately notified and a formal recovery operation began Tuesday.
Deputies said a second forensic team is scheduled to continue sifting the site, searching for any other remains, on Wednesday.
All recovered skeletal remains will be transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination and identification, deputies confirmed.
The investigation remains ongoing.
