MIAMI — Police arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting in Miami’s Liberty City neighborhood on Friday that also sent two other men to the hospital.
Carlos Gabriel Claros-Yanez, 28, was arrested on a first-degree murder charge.
According to an arrest warrant, Claros-Yanez, known to witnesses as “Bala,” went, along with at least three other men, to a home in the 4700 block of Northwest 16th Avenue to settle a dispute over $1,200, a silver chain and a passport.
Investigators said Claros-Yanez got into a dispute with one of his acquaintances and ended up shooting all three. One of them, identified as Leonel Esteban Macy-Perez, died after the surviving victims drove him to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
After being arrested on Friday, Claros-Yanez was being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. He also faces an immigration hold.
