NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — A 1-year-old has died after drowning in a bathtub in North Miami Beach, police confirmed to Local 10 News on Tuesday.

Authorities said the child was briefly left unattended in the bathtub Monday when the incident occurred.

According to police, the child, whose gender was not immediately disclosed, did not survive.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and no further details, including whether any charges may be filed, have been released at this time.
