HIALEAH, Fla. — Surveillance video shows a driver fatally hitting a 61-year-old woman on Monday in Hialeah.
Delia Annet Delgado was on her way to the pharmacy when she attempted to cross East Fourth Avenue. The driver was making a right turn from East Fourth Avenue at 49th Street.
After running over Delgado, the driver waited for police officers. Hialeah Fire Rescue personnel pronounced Delgado dead at the scene.
“The driver of the vehicle will not be facing any charges, as this was an unfortunate accident,” Lt. Eddie Rodriguez wrote in a statement.
Nearby, earlier on Monday morning, a driver struck and killed 88-year-old Josefa Del Socorro Solano at East Eighth Avenue at 49 Street.
Residents described the intersection as treacherous and have counted 10 accidents there so far this year.
