Broward man rammed car ‘with his PT Cruiser several times’ after punching driver, cops say

Kevin Grimsley (BSO)

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A 62-year-old Pembroke Pines man is facing felony charges after authorities said he was involved in an incident with another driver in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday.

According to an arrest report from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, officers responded to the area of Interstate 95 and Sunrise Boulevard just after 6:30 p.m. regarding “a white (Chrysler) PT Cruiser ramming into a grey (Hyundai) Sonata on the top of the bridge.

Police said a school security officer witnessing the incident saw the PT Cruiser driver, later identified as Kevin Grimsley, getting out of the hatchback and punching the Sonata driver through an open window.

Authorities said Grimsley then “started ramming the (sedan) with his PT Cruiser several times,” before fleeing the scene.

Police said Grimsley didn’t get far: officers found him stopped along I-95 with a deflated tire.

The other driver was hurt from both the punches and the ramming, according to the FLPD report.

The report provides no details about what allegedly led up to the incident, including whether the two drivers knew each other.

Grimsley, facing charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, burglary with assault or battery and leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage, was being held in the Broward Main Jail on a $35,500 bond as of Wednesday evening.
