MIAMI BEACH — Surveillance video shows when Aaron Byrd burglarized the Miami Beach Parking Department’s building for about 10 hours on Saturday night.
The surveillance video shows Byrd, 38, holding an umbrella at 1755 Meridian Avenue, and later ransacking desks and causing damage valued at $2,000.
Byrd even walked into the office of the parking director and drew “spiral designs with horns” on a whiteboard, and took out yogurt packets and eggs to smear these on the walls, according to the Miami Beach Police Department.
Byrd was also “spraying aerosol cans and attempting to conceal himself with an open umbrella and traffic vest” and he stole a city-owned iPhone 16, an employee’s city-issued bank card, and a check he used for fraud at the Friends Food Market, according to police.
